SERGIO | GARCIA-GASCO | LOMINCHAR
Set within a lush valley near Rio de Janeiro, the project responds to the client's desire to extend the house into the landscape through a pavilion dedicated to outdoor living. Rather than adding enclosed rooms, the intervention is conceived as a single roof that shelters a variety of activities, including a lounge area, barbecue, spa, and hot tub.
The architecture is reduced to its essential elements: a roof supported by a refined structural system that balances openness and enclosure. A compact brick volume containing the spa and bathroom anchors the composition, providing both functional services and structural support. This interplay between the solid core and the lightweight canopy creates a space that is at once sheltered and fully connected to its natural surroundings.
